One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has revealed she’s got some friends in very high places, after confirming today she’s been invited to the inauguration of US president-elect Donald Trump.
Access to the event is very restricted – leading to questions about who in the incoming administration has been paying attention to all of Hanson’s highly enthusiastic pro-Trump statements.
‘Would you believe it? I have been gifted tickets to the Presidential Inauguration Ceremony of [Donald Trump] – What an honour,’ she tweeted on Monday. ‘Because of my duties to the people of Queensland & Australia I’m still deciding if I can attend the inauguration.’
The controversial political figure later told the press that she had decided not to attend, citing a list of responsibilities in Australia.
‘I thought about it for a minute, it would be a fantastic opportunity, but I’ve got too much happening in Australia,’ she said. ‘It’s more important for me to be in Australia. I really want to have a big impact.’
