In a historic first, Australia’s two favourite princesses – Mary and Kate – are poised to announce their pregnancies at the same time.
Palace sources in London and Copenhagen tell New Idea that announcements are ‘imminent’ for both royal mums, leading historians to predict that they could even be due the same week.
Princess Mary – who’s already mum to Christian, 11, Isabella, 10, and six-year-old twins Vincent and Josephine – is said to be desperate to have another baby before she and husband Prince Fred take over the Danish throne, while Kate has ‘always longed’ for another baby to round out her and Wills’ beautiful family.
‘We’re hearing that both Mary and Kate are pregnant,’ a European royal expert tells New Idea. ‘This would be very exciting news for Australians, who obviously have very close ties to both royal families.
‘But it’s also a world first, seeing two princesses giving birth in the same week. Obviously the stars would have to align for this to happen, but both royal press offices in Copenhagen and at Kensington Palace have been told to prepare for announcements. So it’s no surprise that royal watchers and fans are giddy with excitement.’
Well-placed palace aides in London reveal that Kate, 35, has wanted another baby since Princess Charlotte was born two years ago, and is excited to be pregnant with baby number three.
And Kate’s close friend and confidante Jessica Hay – who has revealed both of Kate’s pregnancies – tells New Idea that it’s just a matter of time before a royal announcement is made.
‘Kate’s absolutely ready for a third baby,’ Jessica tells New Idea.
‘Charlotte and George are enjoying each other and royal life so much that Kate and William both feel that the time is right for a third.’
