The Bachelor/Bachelorette host, Osher Gunsberg, 43, is no stranger to the camera. He’s hosted the reality TV dating show for five years, handing out dozens upon dozens of roses.
Next week, however, sees a strange new role for the host as he appears on Offpsring opposite Asher Keddie.
He plays a romantic lifeline, handing a rose to Keddie’s Nina saying “Psst… take this,” in, what is probably Australian television’s first instance of ‘going meta’.
The scene sees Gunsberg slide into frame, as Nina watches her partner Harry get uncomfortably close to his ex-girlfriend. “Everybody wants the final rose,” he insists as Nina refuses.
“It was super, super strange standing in the kitchen, in Nina’s house,” Gunsberg confesses.
“The hardest part was not losing my s*** when I’m standing there on camera, on a packed drama set, and they’ve just called ‘action’ and I’m acting next to Asher Keddie. I got totally starstruck.”
