Olivia Newton-John has discussed her battle with cancer, revealing she’s not frightened of dying.

The Grease star – who lives in the U.S. with husband John Easterling – was diagnosed with breast cancer 27 years ago and managed to overcome the disease. It returned again in 2013 and 2017, with doctors revealing she also has a tumour in the base of her spine.

The 70-year-old sat down with 60 Minutes to discuss tabloid reports that she had weeks to live following her third cancer diagnosis.

“It was a weird feeling. I mean, to read that you’re dead – or that you’re dying – is a very strange experience,” Newton-John said.

“I decided, well, you’ve just got to see an end to this because it’s going to develop into, you know, the front page of all the tabloids and stuff… I just thought I’d just confront it rather than let this … Because it was upsetting, it was a really strange feeling and then you think, maybe they know something I don’t,” she laughed.

Newton John’s daughter Chloe Lattanzi also revealed that she and her mother don’t talk about cancer often.

“We don’t know, we don’t need to talk about it. If she’s having a day where she needs to talk about it, I’m there to listen and to always reassure. I’ll never bring it up unless she wants to, do you know what I mean?”

In January, a report surfaced that Olivia ‘has weeks to live’ as she struggled against her third bout of cancer.

RadarOnline said that the Grease star is hoping she can last to see her daughter marry long-time partner James Driskill.

“Olivia’s bodily functions appear to be shutting down, but she refuses to let go until she makes it through Chloe’s wedding day!” a source told RadarOnline.com.
