We’ve got chills – they’re multiplying…with the news that Grease is getting a reunion! Olivia Newton-John herself has confirmed that she will be stepping back into Sandy’s shoes, the role that made her a star and John Travolta will be back to play Danny.
The classic film is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2018 and Olivia revealed to The Sun that they will be celebrating it somehow but at this stage, but they’re getting creative about how it should all play out.
‘We are thinking up ways,’ Olivia revealed. ‘[We have] nothing to announce yet. Forty-year anniversary of Grease, which I can’t believe. Time goes so fast. It’s so exciting.’
Previously, Olivia has mentioned in the past that she hoped she would be able to celebrate the anniversary by helping out at the hospital she works at, but she didn’t know if the rest of the cast would be up for it.
While John has remained quiet on the topic, more will be revealed in the coming months.
Despite wanting to get involved in a Grease reunion, Olivia recently revealed she’s thinking about working less.
‘As time goes on, I think of having more time off.’
