Ninja Warrrior: Tragic death rocks show

Devastating.

The controversial shooting death of one contestant created behind-the-scenes dramas. Johann Ofner qualified for the Grand Finals in earlier rounds – with his name appearing on the leaderboard in last week’s telecast.

Sadly the 28-year-old professional stuntman never made it after being tragically gunned down on the set of a Bliss n Eso film clip in January.

Producers were forced to remove footage of his Ninja Warrior run and hosts Rebecca Maddern and Ben Fordham appeared to awkwardly avoid any mention of his name.

‘It was a little insensitive,’ said one fan. ‘They could have done a tribute or something.’

However, a Nine rep confirmed that ‘contrary to reports, Johann Ofner’s inclusion in the leaderboards throughout Australian Ninja Warrior were intentional and part of our tribute to an incredible athlete’.
