Sure, the competitors on the first season of Australian Ninja Warrior are getting their time in the sun.
The show has boosted the profiles of scores of fitness fanatics – but what prize are they actually competing for?
While an exact figure hasn’t been revealed by Channel Nine, some contestants are outraged they’re running the same courses as the overseas versions, but for less money.
In the US, the prize is $1 million, and competitors in Australia are complaining they’re not being offered the same.
‘It’s not cool,’ an unnamed competitor tells New Idea.
‘Lots of people don’t enter the show for money, but for some of us, we’ve given up months of our lives training for this – and for what?’
This comes after the hit show has officially been declared a ratings winner, with it’s pilot episode averaging a whopping 1.68 million viewers across the five capital cities.
In regional areas of Australia, a further 648,000 households tuned in, making it one of the most successful launches of recent times.
