Nicole Kidman is absolutely furious at husband Keith Urban after recently discovering he had a secret rendezvous with Jennifer Aniston, as New Idea can exclusively reveal.
Sources say that the A-list actress was livid when she saw the pair had been out to dinner together, and felt her husband had betrayed her trust.
‘Nicole absolutely hit the roof when she found out Keith and Jen had been out to dinner together,’ says a source close to the actress. ‘She knew nothing about their night out until much later and she really felt like she’d been betrayed. It was a real slap in the face.’
Despite Keith, 50, attempting to reassure his wife that there was nothing untoward about the meeting, Nicole, 50, was still left feeling anxious and concerned that there was more.
‘Keith assured her there’s nothing going on and they were just meeting up to discuss a new project together, and Nicole believes him – yet she can’t help but be worried. Just the fact that they’re spending time together and the rumour mill is in overdrive makes Nicole nervous.
She knows Jen is really charismatic and funny, and could imagine there being chemistry between the pair,’ the source added.
Jen, 49, who split from husband Justin Theroux last February, has left Nicole worried that any spark between Jen and Keith could blossom into more – especially since she’s spent time away from Keith.
‘The fact that Jen has just filed for divorce means that people are going to put two and two together, and Nicole is nervous that fantasy could turn into reality for Jen and Keith,’ the insider spills.
‘At the end of the day, Nicole and Keith’s careers mean that they spend a lot of time apart each year. And while they’re still as in love as ever, time and distance apart can take its toll on any relationship. So seeing Keith out with Jen having such a lovely time is going to make her feel jealous.’
Things have not exactly been smooth between Keith and Nicole either. Earlier this year, the couple reportedly attended a top-secret marriage boot camp.
According to In Touch, the couple spent a three-day weekend at Marriage Quest to work through their problems.
‘Any marriage that has to endure long separations needs to be worked on. And Nicole and Keith are no different,’ the insider tells. ‘They’re determined that their relationship will remain strong and happy.
‘They have been putting a bandaid over their problems for too long. While they have smiles on their faces in public, in private things have been falling apart.’
Since then, the couple have shown they’re on track, with Keith serenading Nicole on stage last month.
But could this news set their progress back?
‘Nicole knows there’s nothing going on, but she can’t help but wish that she was the one across the table from Keith during a night out – not Jen,’ the source added.
Jen, who once interviewed Nicole for Harper’s Bazaar, back in 2011, has spoken to the actress about Keith.
‘I remember thinking: “Oh, my God, if you ever gave me a man like that, I promise I would be completely devoted for the rest of my life.” Something that wild,’ Nicole told Jen.
The actresses later discussed the topic of family versus career.
‘I know what I would choose,’ Jen replied. ‘I would choose the love of my life.’
