It was over 14 years ago that the pair were first romantically linked, with rumours of a secret engagement rife but never confirmed.
But now, Nicole Kidman has dropped a bombshell about her relationship with American rock star Lenny Kravitz: the pair were set to marry!
The 49-year-old dished on her former flame in an interview with NET-A-PORTER.com’s digital magazine The Edit. Speaking about her highly anticipated HBO series Big Little Lies, the Lion actress slipped it into conversation that she was once the fiancé of her co-star, Zoe Kravitz’s famous dad.
“Well, I knew Zoe because I was engaged to her father,” she revealed. “It’s all in the family!”
Despite her 10-year union with country rocker Keith Urban, the mother-of-four went on to explain she still holds her ex close to her heart.
“I love Lenny; he’s a great guy,” she said.
It’s the first time Kidman has directly addressed the rumours which culminated during her brief relationship with the now 52-year-old between 2003 and 2004.
However, the Oscar winner did confess to Vanity Fair in October 2007 that she had previously been engaged before meeting her current husband and following her divorce from Tom Cruise, although she declined to name names at the time.
“I got engaged to somebody… but it wasn’t right,” she said. “I wasn’t ready. We werent ready.”
“I get engaged and I get married – that’s my thing,” she added.
“I don’t want to date. I’m interested in a very, very deep connection.”
