Karl Stefanovic’s Today show colleague Sylvia Jeffreys – who’s engaged to Karl’s brother, fellow TV favourite Pete Stefanovic, and filled in while co-host while Lisa Wilkinson was away last week – has allegedly begged her future brother-in-law to end his partying and fight for his marriage. It’s believed that both Sylvia and Pete are desperate for troubled Karl to reconcile with his ‘wonderful’ estranged wife.
‘Sylvia and Pete are said to be devastated by Karl and Cassandra’s split and they’re doing everything they can to help him fix the marriage,’ a friend tells New Idea.
Adds another insider: ‘Now that Karl has had a bit of time away from Cassandra, they’re hoping he realises what he’s missing out on. She’s a wonderful mum and wife, and Sylvia and Pete just want to see them sort their problems out.’
