The Dreamworld nightmare continues following the shocking deaths of four people late last year, with reports today that Queensland fun park is struggling to pull in crowds.
Despite reducing ticket prices and providing free meals for kids, people are staying away in droves – with the Courier-Mail reporting finding ‘segments of the theme park deserted, multiple ride closures, and minimal queuing during what is usually peak trading season.’
While the deaths of Cindy Low, Kate Goodchild, Luke Dorsett and Roozi Araghi appear to have remained at the top of the minds of potential patrons, five of nine thrill rides are also closed as they undergo rigorous safety testing.
Season-pass holder Samantha Edwards told the paper the park was ‘practically empty’ for this time of year.
‘It was a very, very quiet day,’ she added. ‘Even with most of the rides still shut, we didn’t have to line up for more than five minutes on any given ride. It’s very unusual given the time of year.’
