It was the storyline that shocked Neighbours fans to the core.
In 2003, Jarrod ‘Toadie’ Rebecchi finally got his happily ever after when he married the woman of his dreams, Dee Bliss, in a picture-perfect wedding ceremony.
But when the couple left for the honeymoon, their drive into the sunset ended up with them hurtling off a cliff due to a mechanical failure that Toadie blamed on pal Steph Scully’s (Carla Bonner) shoddy workmanship.
While Toadie (Ryan Moloney) survived, poor old Dee was believed to have died, her body never found.
Now, 13 years later, as Neighbours celebrates its 30th anniversary, Dee is coming back from the dead!
While many conspiracy theories have been floating around over the years, Channel Ten today announced that Madeleine West is returning to the show that made her a household name – with the promise that the mystery will finally be uncovered.
‘Is Dee actually alive or there a bigger plot twist at play?’ they tease.
Mum-of-six Madeleine, 36, who will soon be seen on The Wrong Girl, says of her return to Ramsay St: ‘It is a very rare and wonderful thing when an actor has the opportunity to step back into the shoes of a character they created, even more so when that character had not been seen for some 13 years and was one as beloved as Dee Bliss.
‘For me, this return to Neighbours is something of a homecoming, to the place where I took my first tentative steps into the entertainment industry and where I truly learnt my craft.’
Madeleine is set to hit screens in December, continuing into 2017.
