It was the juicy revelation we never saw coming: a secret romance between Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Kyle Sandilands.
But it turns out the unlikely pairing was little more than a joke, with the TV actress teasing her campmates in a ‘Would I lie To You’ style game on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
As a part of the game, Bassingthwaighte asked her co-stars to choose between two possible truths – the first, that she had once gone on two dates with Sandilands, and the second, that she had kissed superstar Robbie Williams.
“Why would you go on TWO dates with Kyle Sandilands?” Tziporah Malkah quizzed the Rogue Traders front-woman.
“I don’t know,” Bassingthwaighte shrugged, amid laughter from the other campers.
“Just thought yeah – he asked me and I went.”
The star was then asked to give further detail on her romantic rendezvous with Williams, specifically, when and where the kiss in question had happened.
“On the ARIA red carpet,” she replied convincingly.
The camp then correctly guessed that the first “truth” claim was a lie, with Bassingthwaighte confirming she had once pashed the Sexed Up singer.
Bassingthwaighte married her long-time love Cameron McGlinchey in 2011, with the couple sharing two children together.
Sandilands is currently dating model Imogen Anthony, following his divorce from former pop star Tamara Jaber in 2010.
