Mischa Barton claims she was drugged whilst celebrating her birthday.
Speaking to People, the 31-year-old star insists her public meltdown – which resulted in an overnight stay in hospital – was the result of her drink being spiked whilst she was out o Wednesday night.
‘While having drinks, I realised that something was not right as my behavior was becoming erratic and continued to intensify over the next several hours,’ the actress said.
‘I voluntarily went to get professional help, and I was informed by their staff that I had been given GHB. After an overnight stay, I am home and doing well.’
The former OC star also thanked the staff at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for their care.
‘This is a lesson to all young women out there, be aware of your surroundings,’ she added.
Police and firefighters were called to the disturbing scene yesterday after being alerted about a ‘jumper’ or possible overdose.
Neighbours were said to have found Mischa screaming that her mother was a witch, reported TMZ.
She was also rambling about the ‘world shattering’, and Ziggy Stardust – which is one of her dog’s names – and according to eyewitnesses, was only wearing a dress short and tie.
