Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth got married over the holidays in a last minute ceremony at their Malibu home, US magazine Life & Style reports.
The pair exchanged vows they wrote themselves in a “very psychedelic and hippie-esque” ceremony with only about 10 of their closest friends and family present, according to the publication.
“Liam and Miley really love each other and have talked about tying the knot for so long, they decided to just go for it,” Life & Style’s source says.
The couple – who met in 2009, broke up in 2013 and got back together last winter – had a pal who is also an ordained minister officiate the nuptials.
“They wrote the vows themselves,” the source tells Life & Style. “There were touching words about how they were each other’s soul mates.”
Miley “teared up” during the ceremony, after which the small gathering launched into party mode.
“The reception was a beach house party with red Solo cups of wine and booze, pizza, hummus, veggies and a few bongs lying around,” Life & Style’s source reveals. “It was a typical Miley and Liam party, except they swapped vows.”
Despite their differences, the source notes that Miley, 24, and Liam, 26, are a perfect match.
And Miley has even said, “You fall in love with who you fall in love with. You can never choose.”
