She begged for Australia’s help back in March after revealing the tragic details of her bitter custody dispute.
And now, Melissa George has claimed “nothing has changed” in the four months since her plight came to the public’s attention.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, the 40-year-old Aussie actress admitted she is ‘surviving for my kids’ throughout the continued legal battle.
In an interview with Sunday Night in March, Melissa claimed her estranged French husband Jean David Blanc had become emotionally and physically abusive during their five year relationship- allegations he strongly denies.
She also claimed she had been unable to accept work because of a no-fly order imposed by a French court that prevents her from leaving the country with her two sons – Raphaël and Solal.
‘Nothing is changed. Nothing is better,’ she said in her interview with the Telegraph this week.
‘It’s just so tiring, I need all my strength to cook for my kids … I’m still fighting every day. It’s like putting a polar bear in the jungle — I don’t quite know how to survive, but I’m surviving for my kids.’
The former Grey’s Anatomy star says she hopes to return to Australia and start acting again.
‘I’ve had tonnes of offers. I’ve had the biggest offers of my career, and I just can’t take anything right now because I’m choosing to be a mother and that’s it,’ she confirmed.
Pictures of Melissa’s battered and bruised face were shown during the Channel 7 programme earlier this year, with the star claiming her husband had pushed her head into a metal coat rack during an argument last September.
Melissa was famously caused huge public backlash back in 2014 after she declared in a bizarre rant that “I don’t need credibility from my country any more, I just need them all to be quiet,” she said. “If they have nothing intelligent to say, please don’t speak to me any more. I’d rather be having a croissant and an espresso in Paris or walking my French bulldog in New York City.
She later apologised for the comments, stating “In fact my favourite croissants in the world are at the Bourke Street Bakery in Surry Hills.”
