Meghan Markle wanted to break the Internet – and she just might do that, with the news that she is mulling an invitation to appear as a guest judge on the UK version of hit reality show RuPaul’s Drag Race.

The out-there rumours have been given a credible boost today, with star RuPaul confirming to prestigious British publication The Sunday Times that he has issued an invitation for the American-born Duchess to appear on the show.

RuPaul says he initially wanted Meghan to appear on the first series of the British edition of the show, but her advanced pregnancy at the time of filming made that impossible.

Now he suggests an appearance is a possibility for a future episode, and rumour has it she’s considering the gig if she can do it on her own terms.

‘The invitation is still open for season 2,’ he told the Sunday Times Magazine.

‘Meghan’s arrival in the Royal Family marks a whole new era. I like the way she challenges the norm.’

And she is certainly doing that. Meghan’s desire to maintain a profile in the entertainment industry has raised eyebrows in the palace. This follows revelations she recently met with representatives from the American PR company Sunshine Sachs.

A major no-no for the royals, hiring an outside PR firm was an unprecedented move for the Duchess, as the royals are expected to work only through the Palace’s press office. Clearly doing things the celebrity way, modern Meghan wants to book gigs that no other royal has done before.

‘Meghan is creating a team that is not bogged down by the traditions and regulations of the Palace to work for her and Harry on passion projects,’ a source told The Sun.

‘She had been seeking advice from the PR company Sunshine Sachs privately for weeks but decided to officially hire them for the launch of her Vogue magazine guest edit.

‘Even thought it was the UK version of the mag, she wanted maximum coverage in America, which is the country she really cares about in terms of the media.’

The news – which follows startling claims Meghan and Harry want to buy a home in California – has reportedly created further drama in the palace.

Queen Elizabeth is reportedly refusing to talk about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on her Balmoral trip.

An insider told royal expert Quentin Letts that the 93-year-old ‘does not want to talk about the Sussexes.’

People spending time with the Queen were allegedly told not to mention the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Letts tweeted on Friday: ‘Friend of an acquaintance was about to go riding with HMQ.

‘Was given v firm advice ‘Talk about anything except one subject.’ Brexit? “No, The Sussexes.”‘

It remains to be seen if any appearance on RuPaul’s Drag Race makes matters better or worse!
