She ended up in the bottom two on Sunday’s episode of Masterchef, but contestant Sarah Tiong has other problems to worry about.
The 26-year-old recently opened up to TV Week about the struggle being an insulin-dependent diabetic places on her in the competition.
Since starring in the cooking contest, Sarah admits that ‘I need to take more insulin and test my blood more than usual,’
‘The fact that I’m stressed all the time, because I’m in this constant pressure situation, means my sugars are generally running high.’
The budding chef was diagnosed at 11 years old and confessed that it is just a normal way of life for her and many other members of her family – including her mum – who also suffer from the condition.
Last week Sarah was named in the bottom two alongside fellow contestant Diana and will have to face an elimination round in order to stay in the completion.
