Passing away at age 80, actress Mary Tyler Moore’s cause of death has been officially listed as cardiopulmonary arrest.
With her heart simply stopping, TMZ is reporting that aspiration pneumonia, hypoxia (lack of oxygen to the tissues) and an ongoing battle with diabetes all contributed to the Hollywood veteran’s passing.
Laid to rest over the weekend, the star’s funeral was a private affair, attended by a small group of family and friends.
Best known for her role of The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Mary’s co-star Valerie Harper paid tribute to the actress on Facebook.
‘Last week, to prepare me, I was kindly warned by Mary Tyler Moore’s dear husband, Dr Robert Levine, that she was in the very last stages of life,’ wrote Valerie.
‘But still I cannot stop the emotions I’m experiencing, since she was my acting colleague, my sister/soulmate, and above all, one hell of a girlfriend!
‘I will always feel privileged and honoured with the amount of quality time I was able to spend with Mary.’
