Married At First Sight’s Craig: How the show faked it

The unhappy groom spills the hit show secrets

One half of Married at First Sight’s first gay couple, Craig Roach, has sensationally spilled the beans on the shows behind-the-scenes secrets.

In a post last week to his Facebook account, the 41-year-old hairdresser – who dramatically split with his ‘husband’ Andy John, whilst on their ‘honeymoon’ – insists that show producers purposefully paired him with someone who was the opposite of his requirements, in order to create drama. And he alleges the show was so fake some of it was even scripted!

‘We were required by producers to shoot some footage of us getting to know each other as they didn’t have any so I agreed to do 2 scenes of us spending time together that was all scripted,’ he wrote.

‘My biggest deal breaker when I first auditioned was a non-smoker/drinker…what you saw on TV was nothing what really happened, TRUST ME!’

Craig goes on to claim he knew straight away that Andy – who controversially reacted poorly when Craig invited his former partner of 13-years to the wedding – wasn’t for him, and that show execs forced them to participate in long days of filming.

‘I was filmed for 5 days with barely any sleep,’ he reveals.

‘Fortunately for me I knew within 24 hrs that this guy wasn’t good for me at all and got the f*** out of there.

Craig and Andy’s journey as a couple ended after Craig was seen packing up his bags during their New Zealand honeymoon.
