Sam shows us tonight that he’s happy to be on a national TV show, in sickness and in health, when he reveals to the other couples that he has the chicken pox.
Despite his cavalier attitude, chicken pox can be actually be quite dangerous when caught as an adult.
“Chickenpox is caused by a herpes virus — varicella-zoster,” according to the MyDr.com.au website. “For those adults who didn’t catch chickenpox in childhood, or who haven’t been vaccinated, an attack of chickenpox can produce serious, sometimes lethal, complications.”
No wonder many of the contestants looked shocked when he made the announcement and were surprised he felt well enough to attend.

“The reason I’m late, I’ve been diagnosed with chicken pox,” he says casually. Jessika doesn’t hide what she thinks about that with her face saying it all!
“We can’t touch Sam,” Mark says voicing what’s on everyone’s mind – except Ines’s of course.
“I’m scared I’m going to get chicken pox,” Jessika says. But there is someone who won’t let a little virus get in the way of being with her man. “I’ve never had it but I’ve been immunised for it, “ Ines declares coolly. “Chicken pox, it’s manageable,” she says to camera. And it obviously does nothing to put her off as she gets up close and personal with Sam later.
“I’m crook as and she’s getting closer than ever,” Sam says with admiration as Ines asks him to show her his chicken pox on his chest. Smart move to see more of his hot bod Ines!
“At least we could be sick together,” Ines says when they’re alone. “Bed ridden that would be dangerous,” quips Sam. “It would be nice,” Ines says.
I respect Ines for not being put off by an illness that is not Sam’s fault and must be making him feel very unwell though I’m not sure I’d want my first kiss with someone to be his pox ridden forehead so I admire to Ines for going there!
