Married At First Sight star Mike has revealed the truth about the controversial comment he made to Heidi.
The electrician caused a stir when he told ‘wife’ Heidi that, “Maybe I’ll try and fall in love with you”.
“It wasn’t my finest moment,” he revealed on Talking Married.
“The devil is in the detail with these things,” he continued.
“I used that word, ‘try’… but I was trying to give a compliment. I was a little nervous, it was a big moment for me. So it just didn’t come out right and I’m disappointed.”
The 44-year-old also claims that Heidi overreacted.
“To be fair, I feel like she might’ve overreacted,” he added.
“I heard myself say it and I thought, ‘Hang on, this could cause a storm here’, and lo and behold it did. I thought the sentiment was clear enough, but I guess not so much.”
