He’s the self-assured groom who’s been paired with extroverted and bubbly Heidi on the latest season of Married at First Sight, but Gold Coast electrician Mike has a confession to make.
The 43-year-old – who describes himself as “sincere, complicated and inquisitive” got candid about his professional background.
In an interview with New Idea, Mike admitted he’s not simply a handyman.
“I don’t like to talk about it. But I did do the runway modelling thing overseas. I’ve done TV ads and I’ve done a bit of acting,” the reality star said.
“I’ve done some stuff here but nothing that hit the big time. A few short films a few various bits and pieces,” he revealed.
So is Mike on MAFS for the right reasons? He memorably left viewers shocked when he accused bride Heidi of “ranting” at him about her difficult past.
“You know what, I have to own that,” the Gold Coast electrician said later.
“It was a mistake in the moment. I just became a bit overwhelmed with the subject that we were speaking about and it just wasn’t for me — the time or the place — and I was a bit impatient and I don’t know why. I normally wouldn’t have said anything like that to a woman.
“I have apologised endlessly and hopefully that’s enough to clear the air.”
