Married at First Sight star Matthew Bennett has taken a dig at ex wife Lauren Huntriss.
In a new Q&A video, the 30-year-old says that aliens may have been responsible for him signing up for the hit reality-TV show.
‘Maybe I was hungry, low blood sugar. Wasn’t thinking clearly. Maybe the aliens told me to do it,’ Matt said.
The comment is in response to Lauren’s claim that Matt told her he was abducted by aliens.
Matt has since told Nova 969 Fitzy and Wippa radio show that his alien comments were taken out of context.
‘I used the metaphor that I felt like I was an alien [and that] I couldn’t connect to anyone,’ he explained.
‘There was actually a point where I was trusting Lauren and opening up to her and I was telling her about a point in time of my life when I was my most depressed,’ Matthew revealed to the radio hosts.
‘I used the metaphor that I felt like I was an alien,’ he explained. ‘I couldn’t connect to anyone. I felt isolated, alone, like I was from a different species that was how I was I guess, illustrating my depression.’
The videographer recently introduced his new girlfriend Annabelle the Today show.
He told the hosts that he has been dating the UK native since December last year.
