Mark Hamill and other stars react to Carrie Fisher’s death

Tributes are pouring in for the actress

Co-stars and friends and family have paid tribute to the late actress Carrie Fisher following her death on Tuesday.

Star Wars actor Mark Hamill shared a photo of the two together as a tribute.

Captioning the picture, he wrote: ‘no words #Devastated

Peter Mayhew, who played Chewbacca, wrote: ‘There are no words for this loss. Carrie was the brightest light in every room she entered. I will miss her dearly.’

Anthony Daniels — the actor who portrayed the droid C-3PO, said he is ‘very very sad’.

Additionally, Celebrities such as Whoopie Goldberg and Bette Midler shared their condolences.

The Star Wars actress was on board a flight to Los Angeles when she went into cardiac arrest. She was taken to hospital and treated for heart attack.

The actress’ daughter, Billie Lourd, confirmed in a statement that the woman who captivated an entire generation as Princess Leia has now left us. 

‘It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning,’ reads the statement.

‘She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly. Our entire family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers.’

Fisher’s mother Debbie Reynolds, 84, took to Facebook to thank everyone for their support.

‘Thank you to everyone who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and amazing daughter.

 

‘I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers that are now guiding her to her next stop. Love Carries Mother.’
