One week before her unfortunate New Year’s Eve performance in Times Square, Mariah Carey and her entourage were snapped heading into a marijuana dispensary in Aspen.
According to Daily Mail, 47-year-old Mariah waved and smiled at photographers whilst walking into The Original Leaf last week: a store which offers a variety of recreational edibles, topicals, dab bars and recreational marijuana.
These photos have surfaced just days after Mariah’s major meltdown, in which the star stormed off stage during nightmare NY renditions of ‘Emotions’ and ‘We Belong Together’.
Team Mariah have since placed the blame on Dick Clark Productions, who were responsible for the special that aired on Saturday, “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.” Dick Clark Productions have since fired back with a statement of their own, suggesting Mariah’s team had purposely sabotaged the singer.
“As the premier producer of live television events for nearly 50 years, we pride ourselves on our reputation and long-standing relationships with artists. To suggest that dcp, as producer of music shows including the American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, New Year’s Rockin’ Eve and Academy of Country Music Awards, would ever intentionally compromise the success of any artist is defamatory, outrageous and frankly absurd.
“In very rare instances there are of course technical errors that can occur with live television, however, an initial investigation has indicated that dcp had no involvement in the challenges associated with Ms. Carey’s New Year’s Eve performance. We want to be clear that we have the utmost respect for Ms. Carey as an artist and acknowledge her tremendous accomplishments in the industry.”
