Mariah Carey has been forced to step in and defend her ex-husband Nick Cannon following speculation the couple were involved in a custody battle.
‘There’s no validity or truth to the false accusations looming in the press regarding our family. Nick is the father of my children. We will always stand up for each other, have each other’s backs and we will always remain a strong family,’ she shared on Instagram.
Cannon re-shared the post and captioned it: ‘Salute to the Queen! #familyfirst’/
Last week Cannon slammed The National Enquirer after it was alleged they were planning on running a story making shock claims about him.
The article reportedly said that Carey was concerned about Cannon’s ‘erratic behaviour’ and that she wanted full custody of their twins, Monroe and Moroccan.
‘MORE LIES!!!,’ he wrote. ‘So the @enquirer wants to play around with my children. Only Evil operates in this manner. What is the purpose? Except to exemplify pure immoral wickedness. If you report these lies expect a slander and defamation lawsuit. Look everyone, see how the media is trying to break a King?’
Carey and Cannon ended their marriage in 2016 but remain on good terms for their children.
