Manu Feildel has opened up about his bout with depression.
The My Kitchen Rules chef reveals that he “lost everything” after the closure of his Sydney restaurant, Manu At L’étoile, in 2014.
Months later his Melbourne venture with George Calombaris, Grande Cirque, ended.
“It was tough,” the 43-year-old tells TV Week. “I lost my pride, my money and went through a stage of depression for a couple of months.”
The chef got back to himself with the help of those closest to him, including fellow MKR star Pete Evans.
“I got back on track because of my friends, family and the job I have now,” he said
“I don’t have time for worrying anymore – what’s the point? It’s better to smile and be happy than to struggle for something that might work.”
