Lauren and Matt started out as one of our favourite couples on Married At First Sight, but the couple had a tumultuous and bitter end.

Loz was the first to break the silence surrounding her relationship with Matthew, and in a series of damning radio interviews the reality TV contestant claimed that Matthew put his needs above hers and slammed producers for creating a false picture of her as a sex-crazed nympho through clever editing.
But now it is Matt’s turn to come out and his claims about his ex ‘wife’ are truly shocking.
Speaking with Fitzy and Wippa this morning, ex-virgin Matthew claims Lauren has been abusive towards him since the show stopped filming, as well as revealing he has found a new girlfriend!
The videographer gave an open interview and confessed that he regrets confiding in the boys around the dinner table about his dwindling feelings for Lauren.
“It wasn’t the right thing to come out. I’ve not been in that position before. I just said it.”
As for why he lost the spark with ‘wife’ Loz, Matt answered: “The more time we spent together – the more true colours I saw. People didn’t see it.
“There were a lot of factors. I can’t say.”
Lauren has lashed out at Matt since the show aired, even saying during an interview that Matt believed he was an alien, heavily insinuating that her TV husband actually believed this of himself.
Addressing the alien comment, Matt said: “That was a point where I was trusting and opening up to Lauren. I felt like I was a different species. It was a metaphor. It was how I was illustrating my depression. Little did I know that Lauren doesn’t know what a metaphor is.”
“There is no regret about doing the show. There’s regret about certain actions and the way certain people have behaved since the show. What’s gone on behind the scenes. I don’t regret doing it.”
“I’ve grown up and I’m doing things now that I wouldn’t do.”
In one of the more explosive moments during his revealing interview with Fitzy and Wippa, Matt claimed that Lauren has contacted him non-stop since filming wrapped, and the messages haven’t been friendly.
“This gets a little touchy. There’s been relentless contact. I’ve asked her to stop.”
Matt continued: “The context of the message – to put it bluntly – it’s abuse.”
Matt, who seems absolutely smitten with his new girlfriend, insists that Lauren’s messages have nothing to do with his new found love, telling the radio hosts: “No it’s been happening since before then!”
Matt revealed how he met his current girlfriend, Annabelle: “We met a couple of months after MAFS. It was ironic. I got everything I asked for in the experiment – just after the show.”
Annabelle was then brought on air to discuss how she first met Matt: “I’m British. I’ve not seen the show. We actually met through wrestling. We train at UPW on the Sunshine Coast.”
“We started getting on. He showed me a video of running through mazes.”
Annabelle added that she holds no feelings of ill-will towards Lauren, telling Fitzy and Wippa: “It’s not my place [to say anything to her]. I think it’s hard and I feel for her. I don’t think it says anything about her, that your feelings manifested in the way that they did.”
“We’ve all been there!”
