But sparks failed to fly for Queensland’s Matthew Bennett who ultimately admitted he simply wasn’t attracted to her.
And true to his words, it seems blondes just aren’t Matt’s type as it’s emerged the rising reality star has embarked on a new, real-life romance with a brunette beauty called Annabelle.
Matt, now 30, officially introduced his latest love during an interview with Fitzy & Wippa yesterday, and hours later the smitten pair were spotted out in Sydney putting on a seriously sexy show.
Dressed in a striking blue t-shit and dark jeans, the MAFS star couldn’t wipe the grin off his face as wrapped his arms round Annabelle’s petite frame.
Leaning in for a steamy kiss, Matt looked to have shed all traces of the sexual naivety he displayed on the Channel 9 social experiment.
The new couple both hail from the Sunshine Coast and are said to have started dating in December after filming wrapped but before the show aired.
Matthew and 31-year-old makeup artist Lauren left the series in Sunday night’s episode after the newlyweds fell out over their divergent sexual appetites.
Speaking on the radio show, Matt admitted “it was ironic” to have found a partner at the same time he found fame.
“We met a couple of months after [filming] MAFS. I got everything I asked for in the experiment – just after the show.”
Matt and Annabelle’s loved-up snaps come hours after Lauren took a swipe at their relationship.
Sharing a glamorous Instagram selfie in a full face of makeup and pretty braids, the New South Wales native proudly captioned the photo: “Country girls do it better.”
Lauren received a slew of support from followers and fans who declared Matt was crazy to let her go.
“Sorry you were given a bit of a [raw] deal on MAFS. I’m really disappointed in the show!” one user wrote.
Another added: “You’re a stunner! Matt was stupid to let you go!”
