MAFS star Susan has hammered another nail into the coffin for those who thought her romance with Sean was the real deal – complaining that the Perth truck driver was nothing like the sincere, lovestruck figure depicted on the show, and he allegedly admitted to only staying on for the money.
Speaking to news.com.au, Susan – who has been depicted as a cold heartbreaker – says that’s anything but the truth, and insists that it’s fiction that she strung Sean along before casually dumping him.
‘I wanted to leave half way through,’ she told the site. ‘His kids were crying to him on Skype: “Please come home daddy, we don’t really know why you’re away for so long”.
‘And I said, “No, you need to go, we’re just friends, you need to go”. And he’s like, “Nah, I need the money, I’m going to New Zealand in April on my first overseas trip ever. I need some spending money”.’
Those who participate on the show are paid $200 a day, and Susan says she didn’t begrudge Sean for going along with the charade for the sake of cash. But now she wants the public to know the truth.
Insisting she gave it a red hot go despite everything, Susan alleges her polite offers to see Sean outside of filming were rebuffed, with lame excuses such as ‘I need to breed my horses’.
‘Because we were friends — we weren’t sleeping together, no matter what people thought — I felt, like, OK why not?’ she told news.com.au. ‘I thought, he is a good guy, he did stand up for what was right — on camera — he is a completely different person off camera.’
So there we have it. What you see on TV isn’t always what you get!
