The chilling message comes days before the former reality star will appear on Sunday Night, where she’ll detail the mental toll a show like MAFS can have on its cast.

“I just wanted a love story and I thought that this was the way that it was going to happen,” she explains in a promo for the upcoming episode.

“I didn’t sign up to have my life completely ripped to shreds.

“Someone will die… That someone was very nearly me.”

On the second season of the show in 2016, Clare was matched with Jono Pitman on the TV social experiment, which sees two strangers marry each other, literally at first sight.

The professional dog-walker says she was promised that the MAFS relationship experts would match her with her soulmate, however Clare claims she never met the “experts” until the show began filming.

“And I was already matched!” she said.

In a post shared to her Instagram account on Tuesday, Clare said she hoped by appearing on Sunday Night, those responsible for the show will take more of a duty of care for the contestants.

“The absolute lack of duty of care for the cast all in the name of ratings is horrific,” she claimed.

“Viewers should know that as soon as the network has made money from you, then [they] simply kick you to the curb, leaving you to scramble around in the dirt, trying desperately to piece your life back together.”

Clare told Daily Mail that she attempted suicide after appearing on the show and was hospitalised.

“I couldn’t afford professional help. I essentially had a breakdown and I wasn’t able to work. I had no money – we got paid $150 a week and had to pay for all our own dates unless they were supplied by the place we went to,” she said.

After a second suicide attempt, she told the website she spent 28 days at a facility which specialises in trauma.
