Former stars of Married At First Sight stars are now seemingly lining up to bag the hit show, as accusations of cruel emotional manipulation and abuse pile up.
Following complaints by Lauren and Susan that they were used and abused on the notoriously tumultuous show, last season’s star Bella has stepped forward to admit that things got so far out of control she needed professional help.
‘I actually went to a psychologist for a bit after it because it was really intense and it just takes over your life,’ she said on radio station 2GO’s Sarah and Paddy show.
The trauma is so enduring that Bella says she can’t watch this season without developing troubling reactions.
‘I get anxiety throughout it, because it starts bringing up like when I was in it,’ she says.
But Bella says she was well protected on the show – something that this years’ contestants don’t seem to agree with.
‘We had access to a psychologist the whole time, he called me every second day…. and they offered to give me several sessions for psychologists after the show which I took them up on,’ the star said.
While Lauren and Susan are clearly horrified by the way things have turned out, it seems Bella has little sympathy.
‘You signed up for a reality TV show, what do you think is going to happen… I think it’s a bit odd that they came out and said that stuff.’
