In news that will shock Married At First Sight fans, New Idea can exclusively reveal Nadia was blindsided by Anthony when he ruthlessly dumped her without warning, following the show’s season four finale.
The 37-year-old beauty stuck by her onscreen hubby after he was labelled arrogant and accused of bullying other contestants, but now she’s been the one left suffering.
According to an inside source at the finale, the couple happily revealed they were both smitten and keen to continue their relationship.
But just days after, Anthony, 33, blindsided the brunette by leaving her without explanation.
‘She was heartbroken,’ says the insider. ‘She had no idea it was coming and was completely confused as to what could have happened.’
Needing answers and feeling betrayed, Nadia was unable to get Anthony to reveal why he had changed his mind. Left with no choice, she decided to take matters into her own hands.
Plucking up the courage, and with the support of the other brides, Nadia used the show’s reunion to confront Anthony – calling him out on his behaviour.
‘It becomes very emotional after she accuses him of being a fake,’ explains the source.
‘Nadia is left in tears because her feelings were real and she had fallen in love.’
The couple initially headed into the controversial TV experiment giving fans high hopes for a love match, seemingly having chemistry and similar outlooks on life.
But as the weeks went by, Anthony showed a different side to his personality, revealing to experts a ‘Nadia is mine’ mentality, while verbally attacking other couples.
Viewers have slammed the Sydneysider as ‘dominating’, warning Nadia to ‘run away’.
‘His behaviour towards Cheryl’s second chance at love shocked everyone, and then when he told Nadia she lacked direction, social media went into meltdown warning her to get out of the toxic relationship,’ says the source.
But the air hostess insisted the race commentator was her perfect match, telling everyone she was confident they could work through his issues.
‘She felt so betrayed because she has really defended his old- school values in a number of situations and really believed he was in it for the right reasons,’ says a source. ‘But as soon as the cameras stopped rolling, everything changed and he just ended it out of the blue.’
