Former Married at First Sight star Sarah Roza has opened up about the moment she felt ‘petrified for her future’.
Taking to Instagram on Friday Sarah commemorated the first anniversary of her ill-fated on-screen marriage to Telv Williams.
‘Exactly one year ago today I took the biggest leap of faith… I not only married a stranger but I also delved into the grandest experiment of self discovery that I never dreamed could be possible,’ Sarah wrote, alongside a photo of herself walking down the aisle on the show.
‘You see, when I look at the first photo it immediately brings back an array of emotions to me. It was seconds before I was to meet my new husband on MAFS. I was awash with fear, anxiety, hope & excitement but mostly I was absolutely petrified for my future…
‘I’m so proud though of my journey & where it’s led me,’ Sarah went on.
‘I’ve realised now exactly what I want for my life & what I don’t want & won’t accept. I love that I’ve finally realised that it’s ok to say ‘No’ to some people & environments, to utterly back yourself & your heart’s deepest desires & to always trust your instincts.
‘Self love & acceptance are paramount to me these days but compassion & kindness will always be my first motivation. I’ve learned that you should never break but you should always be willing to bend & try something new.
‘The opportunity of going on ‘Married At First Sight’ unexpectedly strengthened my resolve in who I am as a woman today.’
Sarah’s post came as her on-screen ‘husband’ Telv faced allegations of assault, with the Daily Mail reporting that he was arrested and escorted
out of The Albion pub in Melbourne in handcuffs, after a nightclub scuffle.
Friends of the victim have claimed that Telv left a man “bruised and battered” after punching him in the side of the face.
