Married At First Sight’s ‘runaway bride’, Lauren Bran may have left the series empty-handed, but it turns out she’s had her eye on one of the other contestants this whole time.
Speaking to Kyle and Jackie O this morning after the reunion aired, Lauren was asked if she was keen to see her former TV ‘groom’, to which she responded that she was more keen to see fellow ‘bride’ Cheryl.
“I much prefer Cheryl over Andrew,” she said. “We should’ve got married!”
Lauren went on to reveal that the contestants hadn’t seen any of the series before they filmed the reunion episode, so they had “no idea how we were going to be portrayed.”
The shock jocks asked Lauren if alcohol played a part in the drama of the series, and she confirmed that it definitely did.
“I was thrown aback, I looked a little worse for wear but they do swap glasses, they [the producers] put glasses of wine in front of you when you’ve already got a glass of wine,” she revealed.
“Obviously I suppose I was the most outspoken person there,” she confessed. “I’m quite honest and once I’d gotten a few [wines] under my belt, that’s when I decided to tell Andrew what I really thought.”
Jackie O then asked if the producers started arguments between contestants.
“They do prompt you a little bit, they come up to you and bait you and go ‘Cheryl, remember what happened with Scarlett? Did that really upset you? Why don’t you guys talk it out?’ They do encourage a lot of things and they do push you to say certain things,” she revealed.
They’re like little con-artists. They’re salespeople at the end of the day. I thought my producer was my best friend, I was going to swap my bridesmaid for her. But basically they’re like good-cop-bad-cop.”
The mother-of-one also revealed that she has started seeing a new man since leaving the show.
