MAFS Justin reveals: The shocking truth at last

Finally - the interview that everyone will be talking about

Ice cream magnate Justin Fischer, 41, didn’t have much to say when the Married At First Sight cameras were rolling… but now that the finale has aired, he’s letting loose with some shocking revelations!

Confirming news exclusively revealed by New Idea several weeks ago, Justin says that John Robertson, 54, and Melissa Walsh, 53, have split.

‘They would’ve been a good couple, but they have a two-hour drive between them,’ Justin tells New Idea exclusively. ‘And because of their age, they’re pretty set with where they live.’

And as for Carly and Troy, Justin isn’t so sure that they have found true love. ‘To be honest, I think it’s probably a bit staged,’ he says. ‘I don’t think they’ll last much after the experiment. Just being honest.’

The entrepreneur also goes on to divulge that not everything was as it seemed on the MAFS set. ‘It kind of made you anxious each week wondering how they were going to portray you.’

The reality star claims the editing ‘definitely’ made him seem like someone he’s not.  ‘They were quite brutal to my character,’ he dishes.

‘It was super frustrating because I was one of the few who played by the rules and didn’t go rogue after the show… they assassinated my character! They wear you down and you become like a puppet. I keep asking myself, ‘Why would they do that to me?’’

And as for his relationship with Carly, Justin believes that Australia didn’t see what really went on. ‘Carly and I had all these amazing experiences, but they edited all that stuff out,’ Justin spills.

But despite the criticism he copped on the show, Justin says his business hasn’t been affected. ‘Most of my clients are overseas,’ he explains.

Justin is the CEO of Brullen, a company that makes ice cream and frozen yoghurt machines. He started the company back in 1998 with his brother Scott and he is looking forward to getting back to normal life now the show has ended.

‘I just want to put it behind me now and get back to business and back to work,’ he says.

When it comes to his relationship with co-star Ashley Irvin, 28, who he was recently spotted on a cosy dinner date with in Sydney, Justin remains coy. ‘We formed a good bond during the show and we’ve stayed in touch regularly since then, but I can’t say too much more out of respect for Ash,’ he says.

‘We’re just saying, ‘Watch this space.’’
