Sunday night’s episode of Married At First Sight has provided the biggest twist yet, with self-proclaimed ‘alpha-male’ Dean Wells coming clean about his affair with fellow contestant Davina Rankin and in a bombshell move, deciding to stick it out with his wife Tracey Jewel.
In the shocking episode, Dean started to come clean about his flirtations with Davina, only for Davina to hit back after discovering that he’d slept with Tracey the night before.
An angry Davina said, ‘So you just thought you’d get one last one in, last day of the week?’
She added: ‘You said to me there’s no spark with Tracey!’
The 39-year-old creative director was quick to defend himself, with the pair going head-to-head as they fought in front of the other couples.
As he continued to argue with Davina, Dean explained that his attraction to her was ‘more of a superficial thing,’ and that his feelings for Tracey were deeper.
A heartbroken Tracey fights back, ‘So, every time we have a fight or something happens, are you just going to run to someone every time?’
Trying to explain, Dean says: ‘I had a complete turnaround and went, ‘What am I doing?’ I need to be with Tracey. I need to make an effort with this.’
The couple were allowed to then spend some private time together to discuss the future of their relationship.
In an even more shocking turn of events, an unsuspecting Ryan had voted to stay in his relationship with Davina, meaning the two must spend another week together.
When Dean and Tracey returned, the heartbroken wife made a shock decision – to stay with her husband despite his unfaithfulness.
‘Dean’s gone about this completely the wrong way and that trust is gone,’ she said.
‘But the matter of fact is that we got to the point where we both felt it and that’s what I’ve been looking for and that’s what’s real. I’m willing to give it another week.’
Meanwhile, Davina was left furious and in tears after being dumped by Dean.
‘Things definitely didn’t turn out the way I had thought,’ she sobbed. ‘I just can’t believe it.’
