Married At First Sight may have only just begun, but already this season keeps on giving.
Following rumours last week of a cheating bride and groom amongst the show’s newlyweds it seems the culprits have just been outed, with entrepreneur Jonathan at the centre of the scandal.
The 31-year-old’s already rocky relationship with Cheryl deteriorated on Wednesday night’s episode, with his wife of just a few days leaving the group dinner party in tears and declaring she was “done” with their marriage.
Earlier in the night, chemistry between Jonathan and aspiring author Scarlett had been palpable, with the pair bonding over their love of politics and support for Donald Trump.
Their flirtation reached new heights after Jonathan declared that Scarlett – who has also been openly unhappy with her partner Michael – was his “perfect match.”
The preview for Sunday night’s episode only further raised suspicions that the pair have swapped partners, with suggestions that Jonathan will be caught up in a “texting” scandal.
“We sent two hours of texts,” he tells the camera’s whilst laying shirtless in bed.
“We should’ve been matched. We would’ve been cute as sh*t.”
Although Nine are remaining tight lipped about which stars are involved in the infidelity twist, earlier in the week a spokesperson confirmed all would be revealed in coming episodes.
“Yes, there is a cheating scandal and it will come to light on Sunday night,” the spokesperson said.
