In 2003, Madeleine West’s character Dione ‘Dee’ Bliss had just married Toadie (Ryan Moloney) only to drive off a cliff into the ocean and never be seen again. Now, Dee is set to return to Ramsay Street. With fans of the show dying to find out how Dee is still alive, Madeleine sheds some light on the situation.

‘She’s not a ghost, nor is she a figment of Toadie’s imagination and she wasn’t abducted by aliens,’ Madeleine revealed to News Corp. ‘Suffice to say, she has returned and the audience will be in for several big shocks.’

Since her departure from the long-running soap, Madeleine has continued acting, most recently appearing in The Wrong Girl, as well as having six children with her husband, celebrity chef Shannon Bennett, who regularly appears on Masterchef.

Juggling all that she does, Madeleine reveals she was thrilled to return back to the Neighbours after all this time.

‘Neighbours has become part of our Australian heritage,’ Madeleine explained. ‘I’ve always found it lovely when someone from the audience approaches me and feels like they know me through Dee. That’s when you know you’ve done your job in breathing life into a character that allowed people to suspend their disbelief for half an hour a day, five days a week.’
