As Hollywood mourns the loss of Luke Perry more heartbreaking details are emerging about the actor’s final hours.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 star was rushed to hospital on February 27 after suffering a massive home at his home in Burbank, California and tragically never regained consciousness from heavy medical sedation.
Sources have since told US Weekly that Luke’s family was forced to make the impossible decision to take him off life support five days later.
According to the publication, the 52-year-old’s loved ones were “hoping they’d pull him out of [the induced coma] after 48hours or so” but devastatingly he never recovered.
Perry’s rep announced his passing on March 4, telling fans the star had died with his fianceé Wendy Madison Bauer, children Jack and Sophie and ex-wife Rachel “Minnie” Sharp by his bedside.
The tragic revelation comes as Shannen Doherty penned an emotional tribute to her former co-star and close friend on Instagram.
“Yesterday morning I got a phone call that devastated me,” the 47-year-old wrote.
“I’m struggling with this loss and am having a hard time with my thoughts. But, my heart goes out to his family and friends who were blessed by his light in their (and mine) lives.”
She added: “Processing this is impossible right now.”
The actress posted a throwback photo of their Beverly Hills 90210 characters, Brenda and Dylan, just days prior to his death.
