He’s the international DJ set to mix up the drama in the villa, but a source tells New Idea that Sam Withers, 28, was originally cast for another Channel Nine reality show – Married at First Sight.

“He was confirmed and had even filmed his pre-wedding stuff a couple of weeks ago, but the girl he was matched with pulled out at the eleventh hour,” a friend reveals. “Apparently she just had a
change of heart on the big day.” The source added that Sam is “great talent” for TV, and Nine didn’t want to lose him, so they found him an alternative.
“They couldn’t find him another match at such short notice, so they cast him for Love Island instead,” the source explains.
“He’s probably more suited to MAFS, but he’s a really funny guy so he’ll be good to watch on any show.”
