The brothers were brought to tears after Luke, along with Cassie and Isabelle were dumped from the villa.
“Is it sad to be leaving your brother in here?” asked host Sophie Monk.
“Yeah, of course, it’s sad. We started this journey coming in together and I’m leaving without him,” Luke replied, adding he would miss him.
Josh appeared to tear up as he listened to his brother, prompting Sophie to ask him how he was feeling.
“Obviously pretty upset to see my brother go,” a crushed Josh said. “I know he’s emotionally out right now. He just needs to go home and recharge the batteries and go again.
“It’s difficult to see him go,” Josh added sadly.
The twins then shared a hug, with both brothers visibly shedding tears. With one last pat on the back, Luke assured his brother it was okay before walking away.
Later, the brothers discussed Josh’s blossoming romance with Anna.
“It is the first time I have seen you be your true self in front of a girl. I’m happy to see that,” Luke said, before asking his brother if he was falling in love with her.
“Yes, she just makes me feel like myself. When you know, you know,” Josh replied.
Love Island fans later took to Twitter to comment on the heartwrenching moment, with one viewer writing:
“The twins tearful hug, moment of the season #LoveIslandAU.”
Another user tweeted: “Whose cutting onions? Those twins have the sweetest bond #LoveIslandAU.”
