She branded last year’s film adaptation of the popular ‘mummy porn’ novel Fifty Shades Of Grey ‘more appalling than appealing’, adding that the blockbuster is simply ‘domestic violence dressed up as erotica’.
So it’s safe to say that Lisa Wilkinson was never going to be a fan of the upcoming 2017 sequel, Fifty Shades Darker – the trailer for which dropped this week.
Indeed, the Today host sat with pursed lips and a genuine look of disgust on her face as entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins gave his verdict on the trailer during the show, before stating her own opinion on the sequel.
While the trailer includes a pretty full-on, sexy shower scene and Dakota Johnson’s character Anastasia Steele declaring: ‘This time, no rules, no punishments and no more secrets’, Lisa didn’t mince her words as she called the film ‘disgusting’ and ‘pathetic’.
Having given last year’s offering one star out of five, it seems pretty clear the 56-year-old won’t be rushing out to see the sequel when it hits cinemas on Valentine’s Day!
‘Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey is… an emotionally crippled narcissist no-one could love,’ she declared of the original flick, which she added was ‘two hours of complete drivel’.
