She’s successfully climbed her way to the top of the career ladder – from becoming the youngest editor of Dolly magazine at the tender age of 21, to co-hosting Channel Nine’s Today show.
And now, in celebration of the ten young journalists who have been selected for the Today Show’s mentoring program, Lisa Wilkinson has shared a snap of herself at 19-years-old, during her days as intern.
“Huge congrats to our ten successful applicants for the Today Show mentoring program. I can’t wait to meet and work with you all,” she wrote.
‘PS. The pic is a little flashback to me at around the same age as some of our successful applicants – 19 and loving every minute of my early days at Dolly…and so happy to simply be making coffee for everyone and choosing the Dolly Doctor letters for publication. A simpler time…’
The sweet pic was met with dozens of messages from fans, telling the 57-year-old what an inspiration she’s been to them.
‘Incredibly blessed and thankful for this opportunity Lisa. I’ve been beaming with excitement since I found out 🤗 Absolutely pinching myself! You are such an inspiration,’ wrote one apparently successful candidate.
‘What a great role model you are for Australia’s Aspiring young journalists . Truly an inspiration and one of my favourite on the today show. Intelligent and a beautiful soul,’ gushed another, whilst one fan simply commented: ‘Lisa we absolutely love you.’
