Popular Today host Lisa Wilkinson has confessed her marriage to husband Peter FitzSimons was pushed to the brink by his boozing.
Lisa, whose co-host Karl Stefanovic’s own marriage recently publicly imploded, confesses that her man’s behaviour had left her despairing.
‘He stopped caring when he had alcohol,’ she told Australian Women’s Weekly. ‘He wouldn’t care too much what he’d say to me, he’d be careless he might upset me- and it actually takes a lot to upset me.’
With Peter now sober and things looking up, she’s glad that he’s woken up to himself.
‘He just wasn’t the man I married,’ she recalls of his decline – now marvelling at the fact he’s lost 40gks over two years.
