Over the past two weeks, her idyllic travel snaps have been the envy of many.
But Lisa Wilkinson’s Italian holiday is officially ending in tears, with the TODAY show host taking to Instagram on Friday to reveal she has suffered a horror injury.
“And so ends my beautiful Italian holiday with two badly broken bones after a shocking fall on a wet bathroom floor,” she wrote.
In the pic, the 57-year-old can be seen posing in front of a picturesque background with her arm covered in a plaster cast.
Fans were quick to send their well-wishes to the star, writing comments such as: “What a bugger!” and “You poor thing! Sending love.”
In a blog for the Huffington Post, the media veteran recalled how she had been rushed to hospital after slipping and falling in the shower.
“The pain was like a red hot dagger stabbing into my right wrist,” she penned. “More agony than I’ve ever felt outside of child-birth.”
But thankfully, within minutes Lisa was “in the hands of wonderful professionals” who managed to minimise her pain.
