Taking to Instagram, the former children’s performer opened up about a 48 hour stomach bug she contracted while in Melbourne which almost saw her hosptialised.

“I started having stomach cramps and feeling nauseous,” Lauren says of the moment she realised something was wrong, adding she also began experiencing lower back aches and vomiting.

“I started to get worried…but there were no signs of spotting so I monitored it throughout the day.”

Little did Lauren know, but her trouble’s had only just begun.

“At about 1.30am yesterday (Tuesday) morning, I started having contractions in my stomach and lower back. It was the same type of contractions I had when I went into labour with Miller,” Lauren explains.

“I woke up and walked around to see if it would stop, but they started happening every five minutes, and I continued to throw up.”

Thankfully Lauren’s partner, former footballer Barry Hall, 41, was home and he was able to google the closest hospital.

“I started making plans to get there on my own while Barry stayed with Miller. At that point Miller woke up and started calling for me, so I went into our room and lay with him to settle him. While doing this, all my pain and nausea eased and without knowing – we all managed to fall asleep again.”

Lauren, 29, says she woke up in the morning terrified and concerned she’d lost her baby boy.

“I flew back to the Gold Coast and went to see my obstetrician … with tears in my eyes I said ‘can you just check me straight away, I have a bad feeling.’

Well she immediately had a look and straight away said ‘he’s fine, there’s a heartbeat.’

Lauren felt instant relief.

“It turns out I had a stomach bug which caused irritable bowl and caused my body to have contractions which were harmless at this time because my cervix is closed,” she explains.

“But in amongst this crazy busy life, today for the first time I really felt connected to this little boy in my belly and release how much I already care for him. I also feel so heartbroken for all those who have had a miscarriage, including some of my closest family and friends. I send love to you all.”
