Larry Emdur is one proud uncle right now – his niece Anneliese Apps is set to hit screens on Home And Away next week as mysterious nurse Beth.
And as Anneliese reveals, The Morning Show host has always championed her success in acting.
‘He’s always been one of the ones who’s the first on the phone to say: “I’m proud of you, baby,”’ the Sydneysider gushes.
‘He’s the coolest uncle in the world. Laz is someone I’d love to work with – he’s definitely an inspiration of mine. He’s done so many different shows and he jumps into them with so much courage.’

Anneliese, 24, admits the Apps/Emdur clan are a tight unit. ‘Larry is my mum’s brother – we’ve all grown up in a very similar bubble,’ she explains.
‘We’re like that family in My Big Fat Greek Wedding where we try to move out, but we end up moving next to each other,’ she says, laughing. ‘So my grandma, my aunty, my uncle, my cousins – we all live down the road from each other and we spend so much time together. Laz is the resident comedian in the family. He is truly hilarious.’

And Anneliese is excited for audiences to finally meet Beth.

‘It’s going to be really exciting and hopefully a moving storyline,’ she reveals.
‘Beth is cheeky, layered and she wants to make the people around her feel good. She is mysterious, perhaps even a bit quirky, like me – I’m not that mysterious, but I’m definitely a bit quirky.’

Home And Away airs Monday to Thursday, 7pm, Channel Seven.
