While we’re used to seeing plenty of fiery showdowns around the instant restaurant table, this week we see our first MKR team turn on one another.
South Australian cousins Lama and Sarah go head-to-head in spectacular fashion, with the fiery relatives taking every opportunity to slam and criticise each other’s every move in the kitchen.
‘We definitely had our ups and our downs,’ Sarah admits. ‘We had a few fights, didn’t agree on a lot of things – the pressure made us both pretty fiery and feisty.
‘It got to the point where I could have walked out and been like: “I just can’t do this with you anymore,” because we just couldn’t cope with each other.’
Sarah reveals both she and Lama were going through intense personal problems during filming, which added to their onscreen stress – with Sarah going through a tough time at home and Lama dealing with the sudden, tragic death of her beloved father.
‘We were both going through a few personal things… so emotions were already very high,’ explains Sarah.
‘I think if we were both in a better head space, we might have done things a little differently.’
